Branding
Each company can carry its own logo, colours and theme. They show on the app for everyone who works in that company, and on everything the company sends to its customers.
Where: Settings → Branding (administrators change it; everyone sees it). Over the API it is
GET/PATCH /v1/entities/{entity}/brand and POST/GET/DELETE /v1/entities/{entity}/brand/logo
(setup API); an AI assistant uses the tools get_company_brand,
update_company_brand, set_company_logo and remove_company_logo. Branding is a feature module
of its own (ADR-0102).
Logo
Upload a PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF of up to 2 MB. It is stored as a PNG of at most 1200 × 480 pixels (larger logos are scaled down, transparency is kept). SVG is refused, because an SVG can carry scripts. A wide logo on a transparent or white background prints best.
Remove logo takes it off; the app and new documents go back to the company's name.
Colours
- Brand colour: document titles, buttons and links in the app, the button of the website forms. White text must be readable on it: it needs a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 against white (WCAG 2.2 AA).
- Accent colour: the thin band along the top of the app, the rule above the footer of a PDF and the band at the top of an e-mail. As a graphic it needs at least 3 to 1 against white. Without one, the brand colour is used.
The screen shows the contrast of each colour as you pick it and saves only colours that pass; the
API refuses others with brand_colour_contrast or brand_accent_contrast, saying the ratio it
found. Default puts a colour back to the product's teal.
Theme
A masked test copy keeps the company's own logo, colours and theme unchanged, as company setup. Business-partner information in the copy remains masked; branding is not partner data.
Light, Dark or Device (follows the computer's or phone's dark mode, switching as it does). The theme applies to everyone working in the company. In the dark theme the brand colour is lightened where it is text, so it stays readable on the dark background; buttons keep the colour itself.
Where the brand shows
| Where | What |
|---|---|
| The app | The logo in place of the product's mark in the top bar, the brand colour for buttons, links and selection, the accent band, the theme |
| Invoices, credit notes, quotes, order confirmations, delivery notes | The logo top right, the title in the brand colour, the footer rule in the accent colour |
| Payment reminders | The logo and the title in the brand colour |
| E-mails to customers (invoices, quotes, reminders, support replies) | An HTML version with the logo and the accent band beside the plain text; the attachments are unchanged |
| The online quote page | The logo and the brand colour |
| Website forms for leads | The logo above the form, the button in the brand colour |
An issued invoice is archived as it was first printed: a later change of logo or colour does not change an invoice already issued, only those printed after it.
Without a brand, everything looks as before: the product's look in the app, and plain-text e-mails.
Sample companies
Every sample and demo company has a logo of its own (its initials in a colour drawn from its name) and that colour as its brand colour, so the feature can be seen without uploading anything.
